The American actor and film producer Tom Cruise was born in Syracuse, New York. His parents were Mary Lee who was a special education teacher and Tomas Cruise Mapother III, an electrical engineer. At the age of 14, Cruise aspired to be a priest. The only son among four children and dyslexic, Cruise spent his childhood on the move and by the time he was 14, he already changed 15 schools. Later, he settled in Glen Ridge, New Jersey with his mother and her new husband. It changed his course of life as he opted for acting dropping the idea to be a priest. When he was 18, he went to New York to try his luck as an actor. He made his debut as an actor in the movie Endless Love (1981) and the rest became a history.
